Footie Game with Evan - February 21

Everybody in Melbourne is crazy for football, not like our Canadian or American kind, but a sport known as "Aussie Rules Football". There are over 10 teams in Melbourne alone and there is great pressure to "barrack" for a team. It doesn't really matter which team you support, just that you support a specific team with all of your energy and commitment! To experience the true Melbourne sports phenomena, we attended an exhibition "footie" game with Evan one Sunday afternoon. We purchased tickets for the middle of the field, but what we didn't know was that we were sitting smack dab in the middle of the avid "Geelong Cats" supporters. What colourful language came from the little old grandmas in the stands to encourage their players to kick the football! Sad to say for our stand mates, the Cats lost!! But the North Melbourne team beat them, and that is the team that Rick and I have decided to support, seeing that North Melbourne is the area in which we are living! So, let's hear it for the North Melbourne Kangaroos!!
