Melbourne Sights

Set along the picturesque Yarra river, Melbourne as a city is most impressive. Downtown Melbourne looks absolutely stunning all lit up at night. It is a fascinating and lively place, with much to see and do. Last weekend we took a tourist shuttle bus around the city - each area of the city is fraught with parks and a variety of scenic attractions. Over 25% of the city has been set aside for park land. We wonder if we will be able to see everything in the course of a year! Every place we visit in Melbourne, we find beautiful buildings of every different possible architectural design, set between areas of greenery. Now that we are starting to find our way around, we have already discovered Chinatown, the famous Queen Victoria market, the arts and craft market at the Arts Centre, the picturesque Parliament building complex, and have had a most warm and memorable evening in the Botanical Gardens at a relaxing outdoor movie screening of Avitar!
