Downtown Historical Little Walk

There is a wonderful little designated walk which one can take right through the heart of Melbourne. This meanders along through little narrow back lanes that are so narrow, you can almost reach across them from one side to the other. They are full of little restaurants and elegant shops. One lane just opens onto another little street with similar shops. And so we walked through the district, marvelling at the architecture and the sights. There we found classy shoe stores, a gigantic purse sculpture on the street, street musicians, a classy men's toilet with rod-iron lattice work right on the street, to name just a few. Humorous signs of every nature were posted around - who has ever heard of or seen a condiment gun before? Funniest was a green painted tram that passed us - it was advertising " Book now for summers in Canada", and promised "free bear sightings"!! We howled in laughter!
